Reuben J. DeTiege, II. Biography
Reuben J. DeTiege, II. is an economic development expert whose mission to promote positive outcomes, understanding and appreciation has translated into a full-time career. His boundless passion for the subject stems from his own diverse business background.
Experience:
Reuben has spent over 20 years supporting organizations in the development of small and emerging business . Most recently, he has been working to help small businesses recognize that diversity and collaborations can be a key strength. A learned leader on the subject of building economic intelligence, he not only serves as a personal guide to many new entrepreneurs, but acts as a comprehensive train-the-trainer expert.
Education:
Reuben earned his BA from Loyola and his Master's in Business Adminstration from Tulane University. Throughout his academic career, he worked to develop an understanding of the psychology of management and marketing dynamics. His earliest research of Far Eastern and European business cultures serves as an example of his dedication to this focus. He designed and conducted a research study to assess the key factors influencing critical decisions of small business owners. This led to the design and development of Virtual Office Suites Entrepreneurial Development Center, a comprehensive, well equipped business assistance center for small and emerging businesses.
From Reuben DeTiege:
Benjamin Mays once wrote " The tragedy in life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach." I carry this quote around with me and as I reflect on Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech, I am reminded that although we may have a long way to go in terms of realizing the kind of world he so eloquently described, this too is achievable.
